Freebridge Community Housing is a member of the West Norfolk Homechoice scheme and as such does not accept direct applications for housing. All applications for housing must be made to the West Norfolk Housing Register, administered by the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, General Housing Services, King's Court, Chapel Street, King's Lynn, PE30 1EX. 01553 616678
With West Norfolk Homechoice you can apply to rent a home of your choice rather than having to wait for an offer that somebody else thinks is suitable for you.
The scheme is administered by the Borough Council in partnership with Housing Associations in the area. You must complete an application form and be accepted on the West Norfolk Housing Register to be able to bid for available properties. For full details of the scheme please see the Guide to West Norfolk Homechoice Booklet (pdf 548 KB). All available properties are advertised weekly in the Lynn News. You can also hear what's available by telephoning the West Norfolk Homechoice Bidline 01553 616800.
Please note that although the West Norfolk Housing Register is open to anybody, additional preference is given to those that have a connection to the Borough through employment and/or current or past residence. Those applicants eligible for help with affordable rented housing will receive notification from the Borough Council of this, together with the relative priority of their application on the West Norfolk Housing Register, the date of their application and guidance on how to express their interest and choice for accommodation advertised by West Norfolk Homechoice.
Applicants who are successful in bidding for a Freebridge home will be contacted by our Housing Staff and an assessment process will be carried out before we decide whether a tenancy will be offered to the applicants.
It should be noted therefore that a successful bid for a vacant Freebridge Community Housing property does not act as a guarantee of a tenancy being allocated. The decision as to whether a tenancy will proceed, following a successful bid via West Norfolk Homechoice, will be taken by our Housing Staff following an assessment process which will - for every allocation of tenancy - feature a face-to-face interview with the prospective applicant.
