Youth Club Take Responsibility for Communal Garden

A South Lynn garden that was recently transformed from an overgrown wilderness into a beautiful green space was officially handed over the South Lynn Youth Club by the Prince's Trust this week.
Thanks to the valiant efforts of a group of local youths the garden at the Freebridge Community House in South Lynn will now be used as a community garden and there are plans to develop another nearby site to enable the local Youth Club to grow vegetables.
Children and young people from South Lynn Youth Club will now spend their school holidays developing the space and completing the planting.  The project is part of Freebridge's commitment to improving neighbourhoods. Diversionary activities such as this have proved very successful at a similar scheme led by Freebridge staff at North Lynn, where incidents of anti social behaviour and vandalism have been significantly reduced.
The South Lynn Community House is available to local groups and organisations for community activities.  If your organisation would be interested in using the space available, please contact Ann-Marie Thompson 01553 667719.
The Prince's Trust will be running another Team Programme beginning on Monday 21st September.  For further information please contact Steve Lucas 01553 669845 or 079194922245.
