Tenant Awards
The annual Freebridge Tenant Awards ceremony took place at King's Lynn Town Hall on the evening of the 4th March. The Mayor of King's Lynn and West Norfolk handed out certificates to the 100 nominees and prizes to the winners in each category.
Chief Executive, Tony Hall welcomed guests to the event, which was attended by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, along with Freebridge tenants, employees, Board members, invited guests and members of residents' group, Tenants of West Norfolk (TOWN).
In his opening address Tony Hall said that the awards were first started to counter-balance some of the negativity we read and see in the media about problem tenants and problem estates. The awards celebrate and say thank you for the many great examples of community spirit in tenants giving voluntarily, often in adversity, to make life better for other people.

Albert Havard, Chair of TOWN said "I never cease to be amazed at the wonderful contribution made by people and neighbours in the community, I am honoured and humbled by what I have heard tonight." He went on to encourage more tenants to get involved with TOWN to work with Freebridge to make it a sucessful organisation.
During the evening Freebridge staff who have gone the extra mile in the course of their work were also thanked personally by the Chief Executive for the great work they have done and for walking and talking the Freebridge Values.
During the evening Graham Tuttle, Director of the Norfolk Community Foundation announced the setting up of the Freebridge Community Fund. Local groups will be able to apply for grants up to £500 to help grow some of the initiatives that benefit a wider group of tenants. He congratulated Freebridge for creating the fund.
