Freebridge Community Housing begin work on new homes

25/06/20

Work has started on the construction of 14 new homes in Chapnall Road in Walsoken.

The new Freebridge Community Housing homes are being developed on the site following the demolition of a number of out-dated non-traditional properties earlier in the year.

The development will include six 2 bedroom homes, seven 3 bedroom homes and one 4 bedroom home.

Tony Hall, Freebridge Chief Executive said: “These new homes will be a welcome addition to village of Walsoken, and after a period when we’ve been unable to physically progress sites like this, because of Covid-19, it’s particularly good to see the work beginning again.

“The properties that have been demolished were originally built in a non-traditional manner and as such were only ever intended to have a very limited lifespan, so we're very pleased to be replacing them with a number of new, thermally efficient homes which will provide much needed housing in the area for many years to come."

Work on the new homes is expected to be completed by June of next year.
