Placeshaping at Freebridge

One way we put the Placeshaping principles into practice in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk is through our community centres and the services they offer.

If you are looking for a space to hire for your community group or charity, sports club or event in King’s Lynn then our community centre at North Lynn could be the places for you. Find out more about the Discovery Centre here.

Placeshapers

We are proud to be a PlaceShaper. PlaceShapers are a national network of community-based social housing providers and along with the other members across the UK we have signed up to the following five principles:

  • Our residents and customers are at the heart of what we do and have genuine impact on our organisations.
  • We listen and provide more than just landlord services because we care about people and places.
  • We build homes in response to the needs of the communities we serve.
  • Wokring collaboratively and actively with our local authorities and other local partners enables us to improve and shape places at both a strategic and operational level.
  • We are run by members, for members and are committed to a diverse, values-driven housing association sector.

Our Community Plans

As part of our 5 year strategy Building Better futures, Freebridge Community Housing are committed to building strong and sustainable communities.

Within our Strategy we seek to ‘create better Homes and communities and local spaces to be proud of’.

This plan sets out our commitment to working with our local communities, key partners and organisations on projects and initiatives that will have a real impact on the people that live within our neighbourhoods.

A community action plan has been created following an extensive consultation and engagement projects over several months with residents in both North Lynn and the Fairstead and Gaywood area.
