Are you ready to take on an exciting role within our Finance and Business Assurance Team?

As a Business Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in proactively supporting Freebridge's Risk Management and Business Assurance activities.   You will oversee the Business Assurance Audit programme, reporting to the Leadership Team and the Audit and Risk Committee. Your role will involve supporting management in identifying and delivering efficient, controlled, and compliant business processes.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at a pivotal moment and make a significant impact.

Hours: 18.5 hours per week.

Type and term of contract: Part-time, Permanent.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Risk Management: Provide risk management advice to the Audit and Risk Committee, Leadership Team, and other managers.

  • Culture Promotion: Foster an efficient risk and business assurance culture, including fraud prevention.

  • Insurance Management: Ensure appropriate insurance arrangements are in place and handle associated administrative tasks.

  • System Implementation: Support the identification and implementation of effective risk management and internal control systems. Report compliance levels observed to the Leadership Team and the Audit and Risk Committee.

  • Regulation Updates: Recommend updates to financial and other regulations to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.

  • Investigations: Lead ad hoc investigations as required.

  • Annual Reporting: Coordinate the preparation of the Annual Internal Controls reporting for the Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee, and Board.

  • Opportunity Evaluation: Support the evaluation and implementation of new business opportunities or processes.

  • Research Support: Conduct primary research to support new opportunities for the Leadership Team.

Knowledge & Experience

What we’re looking for:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years demonstrable management and business assurance experience in a regulated environment.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Practical experience of high level financial and risk management.

Skills:

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to produce complex information in an accessible format

Attitude:

  • Enthusiastic

  • Flexible (Occasional attendance at evening and weekend meetings)

  • Motivated

  • Solution focused.
