Once your home has been identified for a kitchen replacement, we’ll write to you to confirm this. After that, our contractor will contact you to arrange a visit to your home to help design your new kitchen.
If we don’t already have a valid asbestos survey for your property, we’ll arrange one before work starts. If asbestos is found, it will be safely removed during the works if required.
During the contractor’s visit, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the design of your kitchen. If you have any special requirements, please let the contractor know at this stage and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
They will then produce a kitchen plan showing the layout, including the number and position of units, lengths of worktop, and where your own appliances such as your fridge or freezer will be fitted. If, after the survey, you decide to buy new or additional appliances (for example, a new oven), please contact us so we can make sure they fit within the design.
They will leave you with a copy of the kitchen plan for your reference.
You’ll also be able to choose from several kitchen options. Please see below to view the available styles and finishes.

Colour of tiles

What if I want to choose my own paint colour, tiles or flooring?
We will be able to do this if it complies with regulations. You would need to purchase these yourself and would be required to sign a disclaimer to confirm that you are aware that if repairs are needed, Freebridge will not replace like-for-like. If you don’t want to pick a colour, we will paint it either white or magnolia.
What happens next?
Once your design meeting has taken place, the contractor will order your kitchen and confirm via letter and phone call when they have an install date.
What should I expect?
Our kitchen upgrades take approximately 10 working days to complete, and you need to be aware that for most of this time, you will not have a working kitchen. The contractors will strip out all the units and flooring then complete any works needed to make good, so they have a blank canvas to fit your new kitchen. During this time, you will not be able to use your cooker or washing machine, and there will be no running water or electrics in the kitchen. We will relocate your fridge freezer to another downstairs room of your choice so it will be kept running.
What do you, the customer, need to do?
Will the contractors be in my property all day every day?
No, you will be informed each day of who is attending, an approximate time of arrival and what work will be taking place. There may be some days when no-one attends, for example, to give plastering time to dry out.
What could cause a delay?
There are a few things that could cause a delay, but we'll work with the contractor to try and keep these to a minimum. Things that could cause a potential delay are things like:
What if I cannot remove my white goods myelf?
Our contractors will be able to help you with this.
Will my appliances be re-fitted?
Yes, we will reconnect your cooker, washing machine and any other white goods. If you plan on purchasing a brand-new gas cooker, you would need a qualified gas engineer to fit this.
Once your kitchen is complete one of our surveyors will arrange a visit to check that everything has been completed to a high standard, this may mean that the contractors re-visit to complete any snagging.
