Once your home has been identified for a windows or door replacement, we will write to you to confirm this. After that our contractor will contact you to arrange a visit to your home for a survey. During this visit, they will assess your current windows and doors, confirm measurements, discuss your needs and explain the upgrade process.
If we don’t have a valid asbestos survey for your property, we’ll arrange one before work starts. If asbestos is found, it will be safely removed during the works if required.
Once your survey is complete and all the details are agreed the contractor will place the order for your new windows and/or doors. They will keep you informed of the next steps this will include the likely start date, the expected duration of the works and if/when scaffolding will be erected/removed.
You will be offered a selection of design choices relating to your new windows and doors. Options may include:
Communication is very important to us, so if you have any questions, please give our Resident Liaison Coordinators a call:

When will the work take place?
Our planned programme runs from April to March, so your survey and work could take place at any point during this period.
What if I want to choose my own paint colour and finishes?
Your new windows and doors will be installed in line with our standard specification. If you would like to paint internal areas around windows or doors in a different colour, you are welcome to do once the work is complete.
If you request any non-standard components, e.g., specialist handles or decorative glazing) you will need to supply and pay for them. If you choose to do this, you will be asked to sign a form confirming that Freebridge cannot guarantee ’like for like’ replacements in future repairs. For example, if decorative glass is damaged in the future, we may only be able to replace it with our standard specification.
How long will it take?
Depending on the size of your property work can usually be completed within 1 to 2 days.
If scaffolding is required this will be erected 2 to 3 days before work is due to commence, our contractor will let you know if this is the case. Once this is up, they may need to move or adjust your tv aerial/satellite dish, so please let them know if you do not have a signal.
What do I need to do?
Once your kitchen is complete one of our surveyors will arrange a visit to check that everything has been completed to a high standard, this may mean that the contractors re-visit to complete any snagging.
