Tackling mould and damp together

Damp and mould happen when there’s extra moisture – condensation – inside our homes. Most of our homes will get condensation at some point – in fact, a small amount of condensation is quite normal. But when there is too much condensation in our homes it can become mould.

We know that mould and damp can be more of an issue in the winter as the temperature drops and a lack of heating in homes can make the problem worse. So, if you are struggling to heat your home, then we have financial help and advice available.

Things that we can all do

The good news is that there are some simple things that all of us can do to reduce condensation in our homes – things like keeping doors open inside our homes so that the air can circulate or cooking with lids on our saucepans.
