External assessments to be completed at some of our homes

2025-06-26

This is an important update for Freebridge Community Housing customers.

From Monday next week (June 30th), our Energy and Sustainability Team have requested that a number of assessments be completed on a selection of our homes.

These assessments will look at the suitability of these homes for retrofit upgrades, which will help us to improve the energy performance certificate (EPC) of the homes in question.

This will require an external visual check of the selected homes, which will be non-invasive and can be done from the roadside using thermographic imaging equipment.

One of the things our assessors will be looking for is evidence of Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI) in these homes. If they are unable to see any evidence, they will need to complete a borescope inspection to assess the cavity, which we have authorised.

This inspection involves drilling a discrete 12mm hole into a motor joint, which will then be resealed. Please note that assessors will only complete these kind of assessments with permission from you, should your home be in that category.

All of the assessors undertaking these works will be from a company called Domna.

They will all be wearing blue Domna uniform and have their ID cards around their necks on a lanyard. They will also be in Domna liveried vans.

These assessments will take three weeks to complete. Should you have any concerns, please do email [email protected] or call 03332 404 444.
