Wings project takes flight at Discovery Centre
2026-05-19
If you visit our Discovery Centre in North Lynn, you'll come face-to-face with something a little bit special in the main hall.
Our Placeshaping Team have headed up a ‘Wings Project’, which brought together local schools and families from the community to create something rather lovely
All involved created individual feathers, which have now been assembled into a large pair of display wings that you can see on the far wall of the main hall at Discovery.
Each feather represents creativity and community spirit, as well as everyone involved coming together to create something special.
The wings are made up of 160 feathers from Howard Junior school, 260 feathers from St Germans, Wimbotsham and Magdalen schools combined, and a further 50 feathers created by children who attended our Summer Fun Day at Discovery.
Why not visit the Discovery Centre and check this out for yourself? Who knows where your wings will take you!
