Freebridge Community Housing colleagues, customers and members of the local community have helped raise an incredible £438.20 for Breast Cancer Now through two successful fundraising events held in King's Lynn this week.
A bake sale held at Juniper House for Freebridge colleagues last Wednesday was followed by a public-facing event at the Discovery Centre in North Lynn on Friday, with both events attracting fantastic support from colleagues, visitors and local businesses.
Together, the events raised £438.20 for Breast Cancer Now, the UK's largest breast cancer charity, which funds life-saving research and provides support for people affected by breast cancer.
The Wednesday afternoon tea saw colleagues come together to enjoy homemade cakes and refreshments, while Friday's bake sale welcomed members of the public to the Discovery Centre, with a wide selection of sweet treats available throughout the afternoon. The event was supported by generous donations from local businesses Cream Me Up Scotty and Smiths the Bakers.
Breast Cancer Now estimates that every 10 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with breast cancer. The charity provides support for those affected by the disease while also funding research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
