Hundreds enjoy Summer Fun Day at The Discovery Centre
2026-08-21
This year’s Summer Fun Day at The Discovery Centre proved to be another resounding success, bringing together hundreds of local children, families and community partners for a day packed with free activities and entertainment.
The Discovery Centre, run by Freebridge Community Housing, welcomed visitors from across West and North Norfolk to its annual celebration on Friday 14 August.
Held at the North Lynn community hub, the event offered something for all ages, with activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, cycling activities, family support information, emergency service demonstrations, and opportunities to meet local charities and community groups.
Organised and delivered by Freebridge’s Placeshaping Team, the event reflects the housing association’s ongoing commitment to creating strong, connected communities by working alongside local organisations to provide opportunities, support and experiences for local people.
This year’s Summer Fun Day was made possible thanks to the support of a wide range of partners, including Alive Leisure, Alexis Smith Family Hub, Tech Skills for Life, West Norfolk Autism Group, Early Childhood and Family Service, Evolution Health and Wellness Centre, RISE Community Group, The Beacon Church, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Cats Protection, and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
The event provided families with the chance to enjoy a fun-filled day during the school holidays while learning more about the services and support available within their community.
